Four wheel mobility scooters: sturdy and stable

Among the many things to keep in mind when buying an electric mobility scooter, is the number of wheels: three or four. Generally speaking I would, out of my own experience, advise a 3 wheel scooter because its great manoeuvrability - but there are circumstances when a 4 wheeler is better.

The four wheels provide a comfortable situation for the individual to be in, and although they can't turn as sharply as three wheelers, they easily allow the person to go backwards, forwards, left and right. Of the different types of scooters that exist on the market today, 4 wheel mobility scooters came first and they are still going strong. Literally. They are strong, sturdy and stable.

How about a four wheel DRIVE?

It's quite clear that a four wheel scooter can carry more weight, but it can also have other advantages when... it is equipped with a four wheel drive! This comes in helpful when snow and ice cover the streets. The winter time is not only a time in which people are more likely to get hurt on account of the weather conditions, but it is also a time in which individuals need to be able to rely on their mobility scooters outside. Because of this, many companies have begun to offer 4wd mobility scooters. These work in similar ways to 4 wheel drive vehicles.

Four wheel drive mobility scooters allow the individual to have more control over their movements, even on slick or slippery services. Where less effective mobility scooters may become stuck, mobility scooters with 4wd are often able to plow their way through difficult weather, keeping their driver safe and secure. While they are often more expensive, they also offer more by way of convenience and effective capabilities. This type of purchase needs to be thought about carefully, logically and rationally prior to the actual act of buying.
